Mission Statement

It is the mission of the United States Probation Office for the District of Connecticut to assist in the fair administration of justice and protect the community by providing the highest quality service to the United States District Court.

To become a collaborative organization, focused on continuous improvement, making sound decisions and demonstrating strategically how to create, understand and execute our statutory mandate. To achieve organizational excellence, we believe that four goals are paramount to our success:

• To provide an environment where individuals embrace a sense of personal responsibility in achieving excellence, professionalism and service.
• To foster clear, direct and honest communication among all persons in the office, the Court and our community.
• To create a secure work environment, which promotes efficiency, fairness and dignity by leveraging innovation, increasing cultural competence, setting expectations, measuring performance and requiring accountability.
• To aggressively pursue staff training and development, and create inspiring leaders at every level within the organization who understand what's important and have the courage to take action.
